About the Area

Mantra St Kilda Road is situated in the seaside suburb of St Kilda, just 7.5km from the CBD. Most recognised by the iconic Luna Park – Australia's oldest theme park situated on the seaside, St Kilda is praised for its shady palm trees, beautiful beach, water sports, parks and gardens, restaurants and cafés.

Popular with Melbourntonians as their seaside holiday destination, St Kilda is well-loved by people from all over Australia and the world. Make the most of the balmy climate during the summer and take part in some of the many water sports on offer. Stay entertained at Luna Park and take a ride on the classic wooden rollercoaster – an ultimate favourite amongst locals, to the many other rides in the park including Pharaoh's Curse, Metropolis, the Enterprise, the Spider, Twin Dragon, G Force and Coney Island Top Drop.

Take a trip back in time at the traditional Astor Theatre cinema, which offers an insight into the culture of the 1930s. Still holding its Art Deco appeal, it's a great place to catch a movie, with many of the old time favourites being shown and is an activity not to miss while in St Kilda. The box-office is open every day except Tuesdays.

To get amongst nature, there are numerous opportunities in and surrounding St Kilda including a 4km walking trail which starts at the O'Connell Gardens near Luna Park continuing along the foreshore. Take in views from the Observation Deck at the St Kilda Sea Baths, enjoy the West Beach Natural History Garden, and finishing at The Esplanade. The trail takes an hour and fifteen minutes to complete.

Set in front of St Kilda Beach, The Esplanade Markets bring the waterfront alive each Sunday, with over 120 stalls showcasing locally made crafts, including boutique clothing, wood products, jewellery and accessories. This is a must-see attraction that will inspire you and get your creative juices flowing. It is also the perfect place to buy special gifts that your friends and family will love that cannot be found elsewhere.
